craft services for film in berkshire
Berkshire is reached on the A34 and the M4 without touching the M25. That makes it the most predictable of our studio-county runs, and the most reliable for an early call.
Our owner has worked craft on productions including Avengers, Spider-Man and Star Wars — and to be straight with you, that was somebody else's craft service rather than WoldCoffee's. The company is new; the experience behind it is not.
Getting there
travel and access
The route avoids the M25 entirely, which is why arrival times in Berkshire vary less than elsewhere in the corridor.
- Route
- A44 to the A34, south past Oxford, then east on the M4 or the A4. No M25 at any point.
- Coverage
- Newbury and Hungerford are around an hour. Reading, Bracknell and Wokingham are around an hour and a quarter. Maidenhead, Bray and Windsor are around an hour and a half.
- Call times
- A trunk-road route rather than an orbital one makes an early arrival easier to commit to. Send us the call time and the unit base and we will confirm an arrival time.
The county
working in berkshire
Berkshire carries both purpose-built stage space and a large volume of location work, and a craft vehicle can expect either.
There is stage space along the Thames and a growing amount of it to the south of the county, which brings the usual lot procedures — gate times, passes and a marshalled unit base. The location work is a different job: Windsor and the Great Park, the Berkshire Downs, the Kennet valley and the villages along the river, where unit bases sit on grass, gravel and estate tracks as often as on hardstanding. The trailer carries its own water and runs from a 13A supply or a generator, so it is equally workable in both.

Questions
berkshire, answered
How does Berkshire compare with your other studio counties?
It is the most predictable, because the route uses the A34 and the M4 rather than the M25. Newbury is around an hour from the yard and the Windsor end around an hour and a half.
Can you work on estate and parkland locations?
Yes. The trailer carries its own water tanks and runs from a 13A supply or a generator, so it needs firm standing rather than services. Send us the access route and the ground conditions and we will confirm before the day.

- OxfordshireOur home county. Based in Chipping Norton, with most locations inside an hour.
- BuckinghamshireOne motorway from the yard. The southern stage belt is a day return, not an away job.
- HertfordshireThe country's densest studio county, roughly ninety minutes away on the M40 and the M25.
- SurreyThe western end of the M25. Thames-side stage belt to the north, Surrey Hills location work to the south.
- LondonStraight in on the M40. Access, permits and emissions zones are the planning, not the drive.
The same trailer and the same team also cover event and private hire coffee and workplace coffee.
